It is extremely important that you register at your assigned registration location in order to receive your Martin’s PGA Tour Superstore $200 gift certificate and tournament gift package. You will also be able to purchase commemorative team photographs at registration. Pictures will be taken on the course Thursday or Friday (depending on your assigned flight). You will be able to pick up your photographs on Saturday at the awards ceremony after your final round.

What is the format?
Format: Two Man Better Ball (Thursday, July 22, 2010)
1. Each player hits his own ball.
2. Record the teams best ball score, net and gross.
3. Handicaps will be determined by taking 80% of a player's tournament handicap.
4. All other USGA and local rules will apply.
Format: Two Man Alternate Shot (Select Drive) (Friday, July 23, 2010)
1. Both partners will hit a tee shot and select a ball to play thereafter.
2. The player whose drive is not selected will hit the second shot and the team will alternate shots until the ball is holed.
3. Total gross score for the 18 holes, less 40% of your combined tournament handicap, will be your net score.
4. All other USGA and local rules will apply.
Format: Two Man's Captains Choice (Saturday, July 24, 2010)
1. After best shot is selected by the team members, the other ball may be placed with in six inches of where the chosen ball lay, not nearer the hole and not on the putting green. On the putting green the other ball must be placed on the spot where the chosen ball lay.
2. Total gross score for the eighteen holes less 30% of your combined tournament handicap will be your NET score
3. All other USGA and local rules will apply.
My son does not have a handicap established?
If you or your son do not have an established handicap, please send in as many scorecards as possible and our tournament committee will calculate one for you. If you have any questions pertaining to handicaps, please call Ryan Hart at (866) 497-2627.
1. Each participant should have an established USGA Handicap to participate in the Father & Son Team Classic.
2. The committee requests that you mail a copy of your USGA handicap card or the handicap verification form to The Father & Son Team Classic by June 15, 2009.
3. In the event that you are unable to establish a verifiable handicap, the tournament committee will assign you a handicap.
4. All handicaps are monitored by the Tournament Committe and are subject to change if handicaps are not established by a golf professional or the USGA.

Where would the Seniors and Juniors tee off from?
All participants will play the standard tees, about 6300 yards. Exception: Seniors (age 60+) and Juniors (age 12 and under) will play the forward tees that will measure approximately 5600 yards. TEAMS WITH SENIORS and/or JUNIORS THAT WISH TO COMPETE FOR THE GROSS NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP MUST PLAY FROM THE STANDARD TEES.
The factor to which tee you play throughout the event will be determined by your net handicap (80% of your established USGA handicap). Whichever tees you play from the first day, you will use throughout the event.
What time Thursday morning does the tournament start?
Thursday & Friday - 8:30 Shotgun Start
Saturday - 8:00-9:30 Shotgun Start
(Starting times will be staggered according to golf course).
What time is the tournament finished on Saturday?
Usually late in the afternoon around 4:00 or 5:00 p.m.
What if I have to cancel?
All cancellations must be received in writing at the tournament office. Requests are accepted via fax, mail or email only.Full refunds less a $25 processing fee will be provided for cancellations received at the tournament office in Myrtle Beach, SC by 5:00p.m. on July 1, 2010. Cancellations received after that date, but before 7:00p.m. on July 10, 2010 will be refunded $450. No refunds, regardless of circumstance,will be provided after July 10, 2010. The Tournament is not responsible for lost or misdirected refund requests. Please allow two to four weeks for the processing of refund requests.
Additionally,one round of tournament play will constitute a completed tournament in the event of prolonged inclement weather. No refunds or exchanges will be made if the tournament is canceled or shortened due to weather, nature or act of God. |
